Gemma Nolan is a talented self-taught artist, who specialises in pet and animal portraits, as well as people portraits. The combination of her real affinity for animals and natural artistic skills has led her to work in many different media, but much of her work is done in pencil (both black and white, and coloured) or other media, as you can see below.
As well as working on a commission basis, accommodating clients’ wishes to produce top-quality artwork ideal for gifts or simply for decoration, Gemma also continues to work on a range of collections – most recently including a range of miniature birds – albums of which can be found on this page. Some of these pieces are also available to purchase as prints in the Gemma Nolan Art shop.

Gemma is originally from Belfast in Northern Ireland, and has always been a very keen and talented artist. Even before “officially” launching Gemma Nolan Art, for as long as she can remember, she has been asked by friends and family to create artworks and portraits as special gifts. Combined with her love for animals – her family dog Jackson is a rescue from the shelter where she spent time volunteering – she has put her talents to good use, and continues to impress with her photorealistic portraits of animals and people alike. Now based in County Durham, she attends craft fairs, and continues to expand on her skills, this year having branched out into Christmas tree decorations too!
